Ye Yang is a Chinese bassoonist currently based in Zurich, where he studies under Professor Matthias Rácz at the Zurich University of the Arts. He began studying the bassoon at the age of 10 with his father. At 11, he continued his musical education with Professor Song Shibin at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music. At 16, he studied with Professor Akio Koyama at The Juilliard School Tianjin, and at 17, he moved to Germany to study with Professor Ulrich Hermann and Professor Fredrik Ekdahl at the State University of Music in Trossingen.

As a soloist, Ye Yang has performed with many well-known orchestras across China. In 2017, he became a full member of the NYO-China Youth Symphony Orchestra, performing alongside internationally acclaimed pianist Yuja Wang.

In 2018, he won First Prize at the China Hummingbird Music Awards and performed in Germany later that year. In January 2019, he was invited by Professor Koyama to give a solo recital in Germany.

In March 2019, Ye Yang won First Prize in the Professional Chamber Music Category at the 20th International Music Competition “Grand Prix Virtuoso” in London.

In 2024, he was successfully accepted as an intern with the Musikkollegium Winterthur in Switzerland.
